The Mentors are administrators, faculty, staff members, and sisterlinks (upper-class students) who are available to you for academic, personal, and social adjustment at the University. They serve as your partner and guide and are available to listen to your needs and desires for your academic, social, and personal success. The mentoring program began in the spring of 1995. It follows an undergraduate female student throughout her undergraduate experience at Rowan University. It is hoped that the mentor/sisterlink will serve as a guide to help each student find her own way into a lifetime of exploration, creative, and academic satisfaction. Students are invited to participate in a host of activities including the Tea Reception, workshops, heritage month activities, career fairs, bowling/skating parties, community service projects, music recitals, theatrical performances, career days, leadership development opportunities, and field trips to museums and national libraries. The mentees (students) will be able to touch base with their mentors by way of e-mail, telephone, appointments, and walk-in visits based on the availability of the mentor/sisterlink. |
